Update on Beyond Intent's various projects.

Project: Computer lab at Gangadhar baba orphanage
We started the computer lab in July 2009. Out of 34 students who signed up for computer course teaching basic computer skills, (http://mkcl.org/mscit/index.htm ) 9 showed interest in taking a certification examination before the end of the year. And 2 students took their MSCIT examination on October 27th, 2009. The remaining 7 students will take their examination in the following weeks. Results are usually made available in 30 days. All the students are confident of passing the examination.

Project: Path To Bright Future - Sumati Balwan, Pune

Event: Fund Raising
We raised $500 through our Fund Raising Event organized in San Diego in August, 2009. All the funds will go towards our upcoming projects.

Donation in kind
Mr. Girish Mehta, a businessman from Mumbai donated 4 solar lamps to the Gangadhar Baba Orphanage. These lamps are easily available in USA in stores for a decent price. While viewing the orphanage picture gallery on our website, he noticed that the dinner is served in the front yard. And without electricity sometimes it becomes difficult to manage everything in dark. We got a feedback from the manager at the orphanage that the solar lamps were easy to install, portable and provide at least some source of light while the kids are out in the open having their dinner. Phase 1 of computer lab project completed

Congratulations to all donors and team members!
The first phase of computer lab project at Gangadhar baba orphanage has been completed and the lab is functional with a local teacher starting classes from June 14 2009.

The achivement of this first milestone has indeed raised our confidence levels to make dreams come true with team work.

Further update on Computer lab project

Thanks to all the donors for the contribution. We have enough funds to proceed further with the computer lab project as per schedule. It is expected to get the computers installed at Gangadhar Baba orphanage in the coming weeks.

QCOM matching grant

Matching grant of 1500USD received from QCOM.

Update on Computer lab project

The donations till date for this project has reached $4000.We still need to raise $3250 to reach the target of $7250 by the end of Jan 2009 to enable us to start the lab in Feb or early March as per schedule.

Donation in kind

Mr.Aman Parekh one of Sandeep's friends representing Riddhi Enterprises (http://riddhinotesrus.com/) has donated 25 cartons of school stationery that includes spiral notebooks, drawing books, sketchpads to Gangadhar Baba Orphanage.The truck load of this stationery is scheduled to be delivered to the orphanage in Guha, Ahmednagar, Mahashatra on January 10th 2009.

Reviewed and improved the Computer Lab Project Report, added more missing information.
BI got a new bank account.
Taxes filed for year 2007.
Google checkout almost done.
Got in touch with educational institute that helps with new theories in education, implementing those in school, also giving consultancy n training , designing syllabus , designing learning methodologies etc . The organization provides some educational aids www.mkcl.org/new
